NATTEFROST: Defend the Nature (Single 2021)

Updated: Oct 9, 2021

This is a small appetizer that precedes the upcoming album Dendrophile

1 Defend the Nature 3:42

2 The Great Intelligence of Trees 4:32

(Tape, CD, DDL 8:14) (V.F.)

(E-Rock, EDM, Chill)

A quick word about Nattefrost's new single, DEFEND THE NATURE. Very involved in the defense and protection of the nature's rights, Bjorn Jeppesen puts in our ears low chords that come and go while bouncing in a jerky approach. The percussions harpoon this opening not even 30 seconds in, leading Defend the Nature into a spasmodic mix of Funk and Chillout having its chorus whispered through a vocoder. This single only confirms his style oriented more towards dance music than electronic rock. It's lively and we get hooked pretty quickly, a bit like the structures of the Secrets of the Universe album. The structure of The Great Intelligence of Trees is more complex. More attractive in fact in a more electronic rock vision that is assailed by good electronic and percussive effects that used to adorn the finale of Poland, the title-track of this flagship album of Tangerine Dream. Unexpected and surprising!

Available for download and online, this single will also be released in a very limited edition on tape and CD. It is a small appetizer that precedes the album Dendrophile whose date of realization is still to be known. So, we wait for the next Nattefrost, and we listen to this single which is very representative of the Norwegian musician's orientations.
