Brain waves over brain waves, this latest Steve Roach's beatless work floats like an invasion of sounds, pushing the limits of reflection and relaxation to the confines of our nocturnal territories. Amphibious, cavernous and spectral, the passive music of the American synthesist hovers in the abyssal depths of our subconscious with a strange linear poetry, giving A Deeper Silence a very particular sound relief. Throughout the 74 minutes, the soft whispers of synthesized souls, sometimes sweet sometimes ghostly, intersect in a vague musical labyrinth where the tones meander through a world of intense relaxation.
